I simply adore when the couples I work with make meaningful choices to help tell their story. For Brie and Shawn, it was deciding that where they shared their first date would also be their wedding venue. Friends and family traveled from near and far to celebrate with them at the definitively Californian Mr. C Hotel.
Upon arrival guests were greeted with champagne and Bellinis while Cattus Quartet played fun cover songs on strings. There was a processional of bridesmaids, groomsmen and adorable juniors. But it was the insta-famous Yorkshire Terrier Leo who entered in his adorned wagon that read Here Comes the Bride that paved the way for Brie. While she was escorted by her father to Wagner’s Bridal March, her and Shawn later processed to Tupac’s California Love. This combination of song choices spoke to the classic elegance with a contemporary twist they were going for.
Cocktail Hour offered his and her specialty drinks along with this Cipriani Hotel’s assorted passed canapes. Then guests headed up to the ballroom to take in the sweeping views of Los Angeles and find their seat at a table named for a place of significance to the couple. The room was accentuated in the bride’s vision of white, silver and crystal with flowers by CJ Matsumoto and lighting by Wova.
After a grand entrance, first dance and elegant dinner, Deejay Sean G kept the dance floor jumping. Upon leaving, rather than an individual take-home favor, guests could shop in the swag suite complete with snacks, footwear and bath salts to name a few.
In broad daylight before the ceremony, Brie and Shawn did their first look with the iconic Hollywood sign in the background. The sun went down, but the way they gazed at each other then existed until the last dance.
